Quirky afternoon teas in London
Afternoon Tea was introduced in Britain in the early 1840s. Typically, it was enjoyed around 4pm to stave off hunger pangs until the main meal was served at around 8pm.
Afternoon Tea as we know it today is usually a small meal of delicate sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes and for that special occasion it is now served with some sort of fizz.
