We created our Islington tea bar to bring tea lovers some much needed pampering in the coffee-obsessed fast-paced city of London. We do this in the form of beautiful, properly brewed big cups of tea that are paired with cakes, truffles and tea infused sandwiches, and enjoyed in a smooth tea bar where you sink into a comfy orange armchair and listen to jazz. Our tea bar is an oasis of calm, in the middle of buzzing Upper Street.
Piacha means ‘drinking tea', but in our case it literally means Pia's tea – being founded by Pia, a tea enthusiast ex-lawyer with a career background in technology and lifelong passion for food, herbs and cooking, healthy lifestyle and fitness. Pia's own quest for a properly made cup of takeaway tea in London finally sparked the creation of a range of quality teas, and a concept that focuses on properly brewed tea, bold ingredients, and a rich taste experience.
The resulting Piacha range of teas and blends has something for everyone, from the tea connoisseur to anyone with a curiosity and appreciation for good food and superb flavours. What’s more, in the tea bar we do the work and you do the drinking: your Piacha cup is brewed within minutes and tea leaves stay on our side of the counter
Very serious about tea
We are on the lookout for blends and teas with a difference. In our shelves and online you’ll find a few wonderful all-time favourites - but you'll also find blends that are more adventurous, unique and intriguing. This is a selection of teas that's memorable and makes wonderful gifts. We don't want you to like our tea blends - we want you to love them, and for that, we blend daringly and keep the tea selection wide enough for something for everyone.
Our products are based on quality whole leaf teas and herbs sourced by select artisan producers and skilfully blended with flowers, fruit and spices, to produce a range where each tea is an experience. We believe it is important that the product lives up to its name – Ginger Chilli is feisty, Rooibos Choc Cinnamon oozes cocoa and spices, and Earl Grey Vanilla is unconventionally smooth. Often, less is more: principal ingredients should be easy to distinguish and enjoy, even when paired creatively. Simple and fresh tastes with a twist - unapologetically good tea!
